25 senior school pupils travelled to the Cambridge University track on 10th May to take part in the regional ISA competition. The athletes had been training hard since before half term and been out every lunchtime training to perfect their events.

The day began very well with Jonty earning the first gold medal in the Javelin. Jay followed this up with a silver in triple jump and Iona achieved bronze in the shot putt.

Another gold came fast from Olivia in the 1500m and soon after this she also won the 800m. Jacob managed two silver medals, one in 400m and another in a very competitive 100m.

Gabs raced against some older pupils inthe year 8/9 category but didn’t falter winning a silver medal in the 100m and a gold in the 200m. Then Jonty surprised us all with a yet another gold in the discus.

Our year 7 girls did very well with Sarah winning two bronzes in the 100m and 200m sprints. Ellie C came 3rd in Javelin and Charlie in year 11 also won the Javelin with a Personal best throw over 30m. He also recieved silver in the 200m.

The day finished with an outstanding relay race by the senior boys who held first place until the last 20m of the race, but still kept it going to come 2nd in a very very competitive finish.

The efforts of all our Stoke pupils was outstanding with achievements in all events and an excellent sense of team praise for one another.

All those winning gold in their event will now go onto the national event in Birmingham on 19th June.
