Battle of the Bands
Friday 22nd June

The school was royally entertained on two occasions this week. Wednesday evening saw the annual 'GALA CONCERT' when pupils who have recently performed in the House Music Competitions have an opportunity to perform for parents. This was the first time the newly installed sound system (courtesyof a donation from The Baxters Foundation) had been used; it was an impressive performance.

Friday saw a very different kind of event, the 'BATTLE OF THE BANDS!' Here various bands that were formed and practice in and around the college battle it out for supremacy. There were some awesome performances. The photo shows Isobel and Jessica taking part in this excellent event.

Well done to everyone who took part and a great big thanks to Mr Marple and his team for putting on such a great showcase for Stoke College talent.

 

Don't forget the PTA Stoke College Barbecue this coming Friday! Featuring music from the best of the bands at the Battle of the Bands, the bar is open from 6.30pm and food will be served at 7.00pm!

Stoke College was well represented at the National ISA Athletics Championships in Birmingham with seven pupils attending.

Congratulations to Ruby, who won the Year 7 Girls Javelin with a throw of 19m.

Congratulations to Harriet who took second place in the Year 4 Girls Rounders Ball.

Congratulations to Charlie who took second place in the Year 6 Boys High Jump.

 

Microsoft Case Study

In addition, the school's adoption of Microsoft Office 2007 has now been announced on a worldwide stage. Microsoft have just completed an investigation into the use of Office at Stoke College and have published a Case Study which you can view if you click here .
