Duke of Edinburgh Silver Expedition to Peak District

During the week before the Autumn term began, ten Year 11 pupils travelled up to the Peak District to do their Silver Assessed Expedition; a three day walk covering a total of 40 miles, in what turned out to be very difficult conditions.

The first two days and nights they experienced heavy rain and strong winds.

Happily the final day brought some relief with brighter weather.

Throughout the venture pupils showed tremendous resilience and the Peak Panel assessor was very impressed with their effort and attitude, remaining positive and motivated at all times.

The end of the expedition, and the homeward journey beckons.

At the end of the trip we were delighted to find out that they had all passed with distinction so after a much needed food stop, and a sleep on the bus, they returned ready for the beginning of term.
