A letter from the Principal

A letter from the Principal

Dear Friends of Stoke College,

Well, what a night we had last night! Didn’t the students do brilliantly in the ‘The Joy of Christmas’? Such enthusiastic performances and some really beautiful moments. Well done everybody.

I think it is fair to say that the staff swelled with pride at the accomplishments of our GCSE and A Level students in the summer and this really came across in the video messages. You all did brilliantly and we are so proud of you.  Thank you, team, and massive congratulations, Stokians, past and present.

And many, many thanks to everyone who took part in our online auction – what fun!  At the point of writing, we raised over £7000.  Thanks so much to our amazing master, Chris Paxton.  We are now well on the way to restoring our Secret Garden, as an extension to our well-being centre.

It has been quite the term this term, and I know that we are all looking forward to the Christmas break.  I must say, very truthfully, that it has been an honour to get to know this wonderful school community, and a privilege to be your Principal, so thank you. Make sure you take some time to relax amongst all the hustle and bustle; keep safe and well.

I wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Warmest wishes,

Dr Gareth Lloyd
