Dear Friends of Stoke College,
I am sure that you, like everyone at Stoke College, welcomed the news on Monday of a vaccine to combat Covid-19. Let us hope and pray that this is the beginning of the end to such a traumatic global experience. Nevertheless, we are maintaining our Year group ‘bubbles’ as carefully as possible, along with all other strategies to ensure the health and safety of the community. Thank you for your continued support, by reinforcing the key messages to your children.
Mr Quick organised a very moving assembly to commence the week, to mark Remembrance Day. I am especially grateful to Year 11 students Maddie, Ellie and Tom for their beautiful contributions, helping us all to appreciate the ultimate sacrifice made by others to ensure that we may live freely within a democratic society. On Remembrance Day itself, Wednesday 11th November, the entire school marked the occasion with great dignity, in a socially distanced gathering, before a small representative group walked to the Village Green to place a commemorative wreath in memory of the fallen heroes.
Preparations are underway to create our Well-Being Room, and I am very grateful to the PTA for their ongoing work ahead of our Auction of Promises on Friday 11th December. Do please support this event! I hope that you will enjoy this E-Newsletter; it is full of energy, achievement and hope.
