Stoke College is pleased to announce a new initiative, initially for a trial period of 1 year. Following the pandemic and conversations with several parents of children, currently in Year 5, Dr Lloyd, spotted a common thread. Some had children experiencing anxiety, others had found online learning very challenging, while others found returning to school and friendship groups unsettling.
Stoke College is well known for its excellent pastoral care and genuine commitment to the well-being of each child, adopting a “mentally healthy” school ethos and has therefore set up an exclusive transition class for a small number of children (maximum 12 – 15) which will be known as Transitionary 7. The aim of Transitionary 7 is to help children prepare, as effectively as possible, for their move into “Big school”. Not only will this class benefit from Stoke’s pastoral expertise, but also from specialist teachers in subjects such as Art and Design, Drama, Food Science, Music and PE as well as a dedicated Class Teacher. The children will have a remarkably high level of attention and will be based in a permanent classroom to facilitate their learning in a stable and consistent environment, complemented by the school’s beautiful grounds.
The fee for children in this class is the same as Year 7, i.e. £13,500 per annum and the school will welcome interest in the last remaining places in this class – please contact Mrs Gowans, Head of Marketing and Admissions, on email@example.com to register your interest.
