Triumph at the ISA East Region Athletics Meet

  • Post category:News / Sport

On a wet May day, our team of 27 dedicated athletes braved the elements to participate in the ISA East Region Athletics at the prestigious Cambridge University Track. Despite the challenging weather conditions, our students exhibited exceptional effort and sportsmanship, competing in a variety of track and field events with numerous medals and the opportunity to represent the region at the Nationals at stake.

Here are some of the notable achievements from the day:

4x100m Relay Results:

  • Year 7 Girls: 4th Place
  • Year 8/9 Boys: 4th Place
  • Year 8/9 Girls: 3rd Place

Individual Achievements:

  • Ruby A: Silver in Senior Girls Shotput
  • Charlie H: Silver in Senior Boys Javelin
  • Kirabo N L: Gold in Year 7 800m

We are particularly proud of Kirabo, Year 7, who secured a gold medal in the Year 7 800m race. We eagerly await confirmation from the event organizers, but we expect Kirabo to be invited to represent the region at the National Athletics Finals in Birmingham this June. The Nationals will be held in the same stadium that hosted the 2022 Commonwealth Games, making this an even more exciting opportunity.

A huge congratulations to Kirabo for this remarkable achievement!

At Stoke College, we are committed to nurturing inspired minds through individual attention and academic excellence. Our students’ success at the ISA East Region Athletics Meet is a testament to the dedication and hard work of both our athletes and their coaches.
